Juvenile & Criminal Justice Support

Protecting Our Children
MSCG's experts in juvenile justice engage in projects that seek innovative strategies to prevent, interdict and treat juvenile delinquency. Our worthy work in this field involves assisting the policymakers and stakeholders as they strategize on best practices that ensure the safety of our children. We have coordinated, facilitated, and documented several high-profile initiatives for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, some of which include:
  • Bilateral Presidential Commission's Civil Society Conferences and Workgroup Subcommittee meetings held in Moscow, Russia and the United States
  • Domestic Policy Council (DPC) Stakeholder meetings
  • Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder initiative
  • Juvenile justice issues within tribal communities
  • Juvenile Justice System Reform Strategy sessions to share lessons learned and evidence-based practices to reduce juvenile crime and address issues of child protection
  • Listening sessions held with law enforcement; policymakers in education, health and human services, and justice; nonprofit organizations; social services program leaders, and the families of juveniles held in detention or incarcerated as adults
  • National Conference for Children's Justice and Safety
  • National Strategy for Child Exploitation, Prevention and Interdiction—A Call to Action Summit by the Attorney General
  • National Youth Forum
  • Safety, Fairness, and Stability for Youth and Families
  • School Justice Summit in support of the Supportive School Discipline Initiative (SSDI) to stem the "school-to-prison pipeline"
  • Somalia Youth Summit
Supporting Victims of Terrorism
Additionally, we provide specialized onsite support for victims of terrorist acts. Because of our capacity to recruit, screen, hire and deploy specialists globally, MSCG retains teams of senior administrative staff with security clearances to support military installations in the United States and at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. One example is our contract with the Office of Military Commissions where MSCG provides onsite administrative support to family members and victims of the 9/11 and U.S.S. Cole terrorist attacks as they watch the hearings onsite in Guantanamo Bay and on closed circuit television at remote military installations. MSCG's support includes tasks such as working with the installation's security to check in and verify identification of victims and family members (VFMs); ensuring rules regarding cell phones and recording devices are upheld; offering help and guidance to VFMs throughout the hearing (e.g., offering emotional support or summoning onsite grief counselors if needed, providing contact information for staff members in the Victims-Witness Assistance Program, etc.). MSCG's unique capability to attract and retain on-call administrative support staff with specialized skills and security clearances is why we're successful on the OMC contract.
