History of MSCG
When the company was founded in 2001 by Kelly Garry Burks, her background in public health was her motivation to develop a corporate philosophy that every human being deserves access to quality health care. She understood that the most effective way to make a global impact is to support the programs that serve individuals in need. That is exactly what MSCG accomplishes across its lines of business— Health Care Reform & Public Health Administration, and Witness Assistance Program (VWAP).
Public Health Care—The Company's Cornerstone
Ms. Burks started MSCG with a few public health professionals who were equally passionate to support underserved families and communities, and, together, they worked on projects that supported community-based organizations. By 2003, MSCG developed a resource pool of almost 700 consultants located across the United States who had program expertise to help community health centers be successful in their mission to serve the under- and uninsured via onsite technical assistance and training. Ms. Burks' vision unfolded through the dedication and passion of MSCG's employees to engage in the company's worthy work. As a result, MSCG quickly developed a reputation for exceptional service, a nimble and responsive workforce, and empowered professionals eager to make a difference.
Juvenile & Criminal Justice Program—Support for America's Survivors
Another extension of MSCG's corporate vision was our entrée into the fields of criminal and juvenile justice. We proudly serve programs that support survivors—whether they are victims and their family members who suffered from the terrorist attacks on 9/11 or children dealing with abuse, neglect, abandonment, sexual exploitation and trafficking—these programs became another priority for MSCG. Our experts in juvenile and criminal justice engage in projects that seek innovative strategies to prevent, interdict and treat juvenile delinquency; develop policies to keep juveniles from being incarcerated with adults; collaborate with law enforcement, educators, and behavioral specialists to research successful models that protect and ensure the safety of our children. Additionally, we provide specialized support at five military installations where family members and victims of the 9/11 and U.S.S. Cole terrorist attacks can watch the hearings on closed circuit television being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (GITMO), and we support the Chief Prosecutor's Office and those victims attending the hearings onsite at GITMO.
The Office of Military Commissions (OMC) Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP)
The Office of Military Commissions (OMC) Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) is a Directorate under the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Military Commissions. VWAP is committed to making military commissions accessible to victims and their family members, and to providing logistical support for witnesses participating in military commissions.
To this day, MSCG continues to support our customers' missions with exceptional services and solutions driven by passionate and empowered employees. Let's work together to make a difference.
